Cycling in a Stunning Environment

Unforgettable cycling experiences in the Pyrenees

Red Rock Trails is situated in the heart of the broad Tremp Valley and is surrounded by the foothills of the Pyrenees. It provides ideal cycling terrain for a whole range of abilities and preferences, whether this is an easy family ride along the river, an early morning raid on the local slickrock or an all-day road route taking in some of the climbs visited by the Grand Tours.

Secure on-site storage

For guests bringing bikes, we have secure on-site storage and a fully-equipped workshop for all your fettling needs!

Mountain Biking

Tremp’s wide basin has a huge range of MTB trails, from gentle rides along the river or around the lake to single track descents dropping the best part of 1000m. The area is recognized for its varied geology, so we get trails with forest switchbacks, sandstone slickrock and Badlands ridgelines, sometimes all in the same ride.

As we generally have sunny weather, the trails don’t have to be heavily armoured, and so are smoother and more flowing than they might be otherwise. There are plenty of rock gardens for those that want them, though!

Territori Lo Podall

In addition to the historical trail network, a small group of dedicated local riders have formed a trail building crew. They have been recovering lost paths and constructing purpose-built trails, to create the Territori Lo Podall area, now with over 300 km of single track and counting!

Road Cycling

Red Rock Trails is the perfect base from which to explore the idyllic empty roads circling our local lakes, venture into the surrounding valleys, or test your lungs and legs attempting to get a KOM on one of the nearby HC climbs, all the while enjoying dry, sunny weather pretty much all year round!

We love being able to ride without the traffic and crowds of other popular cycling hotspots, most days you’ll have the roads pretty much to yourselves – so you can concentrate on the stunning mountain scenery, and on the road ahead when it starts pointing downhill…

Gravel Riding

Gravel riding is an excellent way to explore the wild beauty of our area, accessing the places that lie beyond the paved roads and going back in time to before the ubiquity of the car.

Over the last century a lot of the local population left to seek work in the city or abroad, but the old road and path network is still there, allowing you to ride to mountain top vistas, gorges with waterfalls, dinosaur footprints and abandoned villages (even the odd winery…).
